Dr. Gabrielle Bacon is a trustee of The Moore Charitable Foundation, overseeing the grant portfolio in the areas of education, health and the arts. Gabrielle serves on the US Board of Client Earth, a global environmental organization, as well as the Peconic Baykeeper, which tackles local water pollution issues on Long Island. A long time Women’s Board member of The Boys’ Club of New York, Dr. Bacon is also a trustee of New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University-Weill Cornell medical system. Gabrielle sits on Harvard Kennedy School’s Advisory Council to Dean Douglas Elmendorf and its Center for Public Leadership’s Leadership Council. Previously, Gabrielle worked for a decade at Sotheby’s in London, UK and at several galleries in the United States. By invitation, she is a member of the International Council of The Metropolitan Museum of Fine Arts. Dr Bacon recently returned to Cambridge University– after a 25-year hiatus, having received her MPhil in international relations in 1989. In late 2019, she completed her PhD in land economy: her research focused on human rights violations incurred by environmental degradation. Dr. Bacon’s undergraduate degree in politics and economics came from McGill University, in her hometown of Montreal, Canada.
