Cambridge Alumni of Northern California: An Evening of Poetry, Song and Dance.

Cambridge Alumni of Northern California invites you to an evening of poetry, song, and dance from Persian and Indian Traditions at the home of President of Cambridge Alumni of Northern California, Bharti Kansara.

Maryam Khademian and Parul Dubey will recite poetry of Shiraz's renowned poet, Hafez, and sing classical songs of India.

The cost of $15 will include Indo-Persian food and beverages!

About the Artists

Maryam Khademian is a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University. Growing up in Shiraz, she was surrounded by art, music, history, literature, the perfume of roses and orange blossoms and world-renowned wine. Maryam offers you this evening a sip of the mystical ghazals of Shiraz's greatest poet, Hafez, which depict both worldly and divine love. She will first recite them in the language of the poet and then in English translation.

Parul Dubey will sing classical songs to honor her family's legacy and also Bollywood songs for dancing. Parul works in fintech in the Bay Area. Growing up in Lucknow, India, she inherited her family’s love for music. Her mother is trained in classical music and sings Ravindra Sangeet. Parul sang devotional music from an early age and more recently performed in a London band.

The venue information will be given upon registration.

We look forward to seeing you there!
