Oxford and Cambridge Society of Montreal

In Montreal we have an active combined society with events almost every month.  There is the “First Thursday of the Month” lunch held at the McGill Faculty Club starting in September for ten consecutive months.  Additional events include a Fall Cocktail, usually at the home of the UK Consul General.  Since we have extreme weather in Montreal, we celebrate the fact by having a curry party on the coldest day of the year, the last Thursday in January.  It has been as low as -30C some years, but not recently.  In April we have a Boat Race Dinner, with a guest speaker like the UK High Commissioner.  During the summer we have a Garden Party, with croquet, and a summer BBQ.
