J. Michael Kosterlitz is a British-American physicist. He is a professor of Physics at Brown University. He was awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physics along with other colleagues for work on condensed matter physics. He received a BA and MA degree at Gonville and Caius College. Throughout his career, he has won many awards, including the Maxwell Medal and Prize from the British Institute of Physics, and the Lars Onsager Prize for the American Physical Society.
