John McPhee

John McPhee is an American writer from Princeton, New Jersey. He is considered one of the pioneers of creative non-fiction. McPhee’s writing career began at Time magazine and led to an association with the weekly magazine The New Yorker. John wrote his first article in The New Yorker about his time as a Cambridge University basketball player. He is a four time-finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in the category General Nonfiction. In 2008 he also received the George Polk Career award for “indelible mark on American journalism during his nearly half-century career”. Currently, he spends his time teaching writing at Princeton University.  Read more.
