Join us in Healdsburg at Ramey Wine Cellars for a vineyard picnic followed by a cellar tasting inspired by the Cambridge Blind Wine Tasting Society and Cambridge Wine Society. Your host will be Cambridge Alum, Alan Ramey (King's College, 2001) who competed on the blind tasting team (helping to beat Oxford) while earning his master’s degree. Alan is the co-president of Ramey Wine Cellar, working in all aspects of winery operations. He serves on the board of the California Wine Institute and is currently researching and writing a forthcoming wine book for Académie du Vin Press. At the winery he will lead the group through a lecture-style wine tasting. The group will blind taste international wines using the Cambridge blind approach and will also taste through Ramey wines in the same way that the Cambridge Wine Society would with a visiting producer. There are 35 spots available; this experience is open to advanced tasters or people just getting into wine who want to learn more.

Vineyard Picnic - 12:00pm PT
Enjoy a beautiful spring picnic in the vineyard. Those interested can join Alan in the vineyard for a walking viticulture lecture. Much of the vineyard is being replanted now, so it will be possible to walk through every stage of the vineyard planting process.
Winery Tasting - 2:30pm - 4:30pm PT
We will drive from the picnic to visit Ramey’s urban, working winery in Healdsburg. It is approximately a 15-minute drive from the vineyard.
Ramey Wine Cellars is a globally recognized winery, one of the few to have made it multiple times on Wine Spectator’s top 100 wines list. Their wines are served in several Michelin starred restaurants, have received multiple 100 points scores, and the winemaking legacy has helped shape how wine is made in California.
