Monday, March 11, 2024, 3.00pm to 5.30pm EDT
Only 7% of art in British museums and galleries is by women. At the National Gallery in London, it’s just 1%. Murray Edwards College — one of the two higher education institutions for women in the UK — is home to the largest collection of women’s art in Europe. Founded in 1992, The Women’s Art Collection now features over 600 works by leading artists including Barbara Hepworth, Tracey Emin and Lubaina Himid.
You are invited to a special afternoon with the President of Murray Edwards College, Dorothy Byrne speaking at the Society of the Four Arts. Dorothy Byrne will introduce Murray Edwards' Women's Art Collection to the wider Palm Beach community.
After the talk, you are welcome to join Professor Byrne and fellow alumni and friends of Cambridge at a reception at the Four Arts complex. We are excited to announce that Professor Christopher Kelly, Master of Corpus Christi College will join us for the afternoon with Guild Fellow of Corpus Christi and Cambridge in America Board Director, Ms. Shawn Donnelley.
